Event Information

TOUR of WEST CORK 2016 promises to be an amazing event. This year’s cycle is on June 17th. We have two distances to offer entrants, 100km & 150km routes.

Online registration will close on Wednesday 15th June. Registration will be open on Friday 16th from 1900hrs- 2000hrs at the Quality Hotel , Clonakilty.

Registration will be available on the day but we do advise pre- registering. Registration on the day will take place from 0600hrs- 0700hrs.

Pack pick up will take place on Friday night as above and on June 17th from 0600hrs- 0730hrs for pre registered participants.

Parking will be open from 0600hrs on the 17th adjacent to the Quality Hotel, as directed by stewards.

This year’s cycle will start at 0800hrs from the Quality Hotel but get in early to avail of our free bowl of Flahavans  porridge!!

Cyclists will follow a well sign posted route along the beautiful West Cork coastline passing through the following places, Ardfield, Owenahincha, Rosscarbery, Glandore Union Hall, Castletownsend, Baltimore (150k only), Skibbereen, Drinagh and finally back to Clonakilty. Motor cycle stewards will also be rolling throught-out the routes to ensure your safety.

Foodstops along the way will be in Unionhall, Baltimore and our main foodstop will be in Skibbereen where you can enjoy a nice pasta dish.

On returning to Clonakilty  the Management of the Clonakilty Park Leisure Centre will welcome you in for a well deserved shower followed by a nice hot meal.

Each participant will be given a wrist band which will ensure their entry into the foodstops, pre & post cycle food, shower facilities and the Emergency contact telephone number should it be required, this includes technical support.

The head-quarters for this year’s event is the Quality Hotel & Leisure Centre, Clonakilty. The Quality Hotel has a lot to offer entrants including superb accommodation & leisure centre facilities. All proceeds from the cycle go directly into West Cork based charities this year.

This years chosen charity is West Cork Rapid Response. We are also delighted to welcome West Cork Tri on board this year as our partners in organising the event. Check out the routes under ROUTES tab.
